I thought the smoke in the air was bad here in Roseville, but didn't know how bad it was until I drove to Auburn this morning for an editors' meeting.

Wow, I couldn't believe it. The sky was so dark it looked like it could rain. It seems incredible to me that fires that are hundreds of miles away could be causing such bad air here in our community.

I guess we should feel lucky that the temperature is not as high as it could be this time of year.
