Miyagi Gymnastics Academy student Libby Gregory, a senior at Bear River High, qualified at the USA Gymnastics Region 1 level 8, 9 and 10 Championships held this past weekend in Long Beach, Calif. for the Region 1 Western Championships Team.

Gregory, a level 9 gymnast, placed ninth in the all-around competition of the Level 9 Senior D division with a total score of 35.425, which was enough to place her on the Western Championships Region 1 Team.

She placed seventh on the vault with a score of 8.875, 10th on the uneven bars with a score of 8.725, sixth on the beam with a score of 9.0 and 12th on the floor with a score of 8.825.

Gregory competed along with nine other qualifiers — Erin Wipperman (level 10), Annie Penrose (level 10), Chandra Kramer (level 8), Jessica Miyagi (level 10), Alexandra Esmerian (level 8), Hannah Clark (level 9), Lea Fong (level 8), Kiely Gode (level 8) and Sarah Leipsic (level 9).

Level 10 gymnasts Erin Wipperman, and Jessica Miyagi will also be continuing their seasons. Miyagi earned a place on the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic Region 1 National Team and Wipperman earned a spot as an alternate.

The USAG Level 9 Western Championships will be held in St. Charles, Mo., May 9-11 and the JO National Championships will be held in Kissimmee, Fla. May 16-18.
