The Argonauts, a new Auburn-based youth robotics team, won the top award at their very first competition in Brentwood last month. They are now qualified for the Northern California State competition in January.

From a field of 16 teams from across California, the Argonauts were chosen as winners of the Inspire Award, given to the team that best represents a “role model” team in various areas including field competition, teamwork, gracious professionalism, and outreach activities.

The Argonauts and their robot, “Jason”, were also on the winning alliance of a very thrilling robot field competition along with the ScotBotics team from Piedmont.

The Argonauts are a rookie team in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) league for youth aged 14-18, and are sponsored by ioSafe, Advantage Print, Marketing & More, and the Soroptimists International of Auburn.
