Innocent are often executed
Reader Input
Re: “Send criminals to the next level,” (Reader Input, April 23). Ah, another myth: Only the truly guilty get the death penalty. The fact is that innocent people are at risk of being executed. Since 1976, 135 men and women have been released from death row after being found innocent, several of whom came within hours of execution. There is mounting evidence to suggest that several innocent men were wrongfully executed in the United States in the last 20 years. Time to get the real facts. Millee Livingston, Auburn
