Ingeborg, a 1-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever female, was last seen near Rocklin and Barton roads in the Rocklin/Loomis area. Ingeborg is a guide dog for the blind in training.

The owners of a Loomis guide dog for the blind are searching for their lost puppy.

Monday evening Denise St. Jean, public relations manager for Guide Dogs for the Blind, said that Ingeborg, a one-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever female, was last seen near Rocklin and Barton roads in the Rocklin/Loomis area.

Although Ingeborg is still a puppy, she looks like an adult dog, St. Jean said.

Ingeborg has tattoos in both ears with her ID number. She was wearing a black collar with ID plate and a long cord leash was attached to the collar.

A Loomis family is currently raising Ingeborg. The family is teaching her house manners and socializing her by introducing her to new people, places and experiences, St. Jean said.

Ingeborg and other guide dogs in training are raised at a home until they are between 15 and 18 months old. Then they begin formal training at Guide Dogs for the Blind, which is headquartered in San Rafael.

The dogs are eventually matched with blind students.

If you have any information about this lost puppy, please contact Celeste Butrym at (916) 992-3999 or Guide Dogs for the Blind at (800) 295-4050.

He was found safe and sound last night...on the property he's housed at - in a building.

Is he really missing? Maybe his owner just can't see him.
