Boys discover decomposing body in Folsom
By Brad Smith, Telegraph Correspondent

Folsom police are investigating a body discovered along East Natoma Street early Saturday afternoon.

Sgt. Rick Hillman, public information officer, explained that the initial discovery was made by some local kids.

Hillman reported that three young boys had been riding their bikes along East Natoma, north of Blue Ravine Road, some time around 1:30 p.m. The kids thought they saw a tunnel or culvert, he said, and wanted to check it out.

“The kids walked through some bushes and they saw a human body. They went back home,” Hillman said, “and told their parents.”

One of parents contacted the police.

Hillman said that officers went to the area, where they did find a body. He reported that it was so badly decomposed that it was difficult to determine if it was male or female. The Sacramento County Coroner's Office are expected to perform an autopsy within a few days.

Detectives are now reviewing missing person reports as part of the investigation. Due to the location of where the body was found, detectives are treating the death as suspicious. Hillman said that if anyone has information that could help, they need to contact the Folsom Police Department.

What if it's an escaped prisoner and that's why there is no missing person report filed by Folsom PD?
