Man who cooked breakfast, set chair on fire in burglaries gets two years in prison
A Roseville man will serve two year in prison for breaking into a home and cooking breakfast. Marcelino Mesa Mejia, 26, broke into a Roseville home on Coloma Way during the early morning hours of Sept. 5 and began cooking himself a breakfast. He fled when he awakened the home’s occupants. Twenty minutes later, he broke into another Roseville home on Audrey Way, awakening the occupant. He fled after setting a chair on fire in the sunroom. Police responded, found him in the area and arrested him. Mejia entered a plea of no contest on Oct. 9 to two counts of first-degree residential burglary and Placer County Superior Court Judge James D. Garbolino gave him the prison term. Mejia also now has two felony strikes on his criminal record. Two other counts of arson and giving false information to police were dismissed in a plea deal with the Placer County District Attorney’s Office. ~ Staff report

Too bad the resident wasn't armed... Had he chose my house they would have had to clean him off the wall.
