Why so quiet, Limbaugh?
Reader Input

Where was Rush Limbaugh when the Republicans so desperately need him?

It is quite obvious that Republicans keep silent until they get their daily “fix” from motor-mouth Rush. But where was that wise oracle last week when he could have spewed out enough venomous vitriol that would have astonished Herr Goebbels, Hitler’s propaganda minister?

I’m talking about the terrible attack at Fort Hood.

During last year’s presidential campaign, all Republicans were parroting the great Rush’s words that Americans were safer under beady-eyed George W. Bush’s “watch” because a second terrorist attack on the U.S. never occurred.

I was expecting Propaganda Minister Limbaugh to shout with glee, “See! Now the second terrorist attack has happened. Ha! Ha! Ha!”

The shooter was a Muslim. The dead and wounded were all Americans. Dopehead Rush certainly could have come up with the idea that Americans are less safe under his hated enemy, President Obama. Make sense?

Is it possible that R.L. is keeping his mouth shut because the Fort Hood shooter is another fanatic, card-carrying Republican?

One question. Why is it our men and women are over fighting for our freedom and when they come back, they have a muslim as a phychiatrist? That was not a smart thing to do.How did anyone dream up the idea of coming home and getting help from the same people they had to kill in the war.Where was the logic in that?

Sooooooooo....you're writing a letter to complain about something Rush Limbaugh DIDN'T say? Ok. Right. Roll eyes!

Dunno about the murderer being a "republican", but we do know he is a Jihadist Muslim with terrorist contacts and absurd views on what is right and wrong...and he carried those views to fruition by killing fellow soldiers. No...he didn't. He killed American soldiers who fight for the freedom of oppressed people like millions of Muslims who have been enslaved by Jihadist thugs like the Major. The situation is crystal clear. The question is, why are you so worried about Rush when we have thousands of potential terrorist killers spread throughout our country. Worse, Mr. Obama wouldn't know how to recognize, discover, investigate, capture, prosecute, or incarcerate/eliminate ANY of them because he refuses to acknowledge they even exist.

You should be thanking Mr. Limbaugh every day for exposing the danger we face and the preventable waste of lives we just witnessed.

Yeah...keep your eyes focused on Limbaugh 'cause he's the real danger. Right. Roll eyes and drop head to chest.

Looks to me like you have inverted the truth in an attempt to make a spectacle land on Limbaugh's doorstep....

......ummm.....wrong adress I believe, your package is at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

You can try to have it forwarded but brace yourself for a Groundhog Day.

What an idiotic letter. You don't need to make stuff up in order to make Rush look like a scumbag, he does just fine on his own.

Rush is mostly a Conservative not a Republican.

PS: The Fort Hood terror attack happened on Obama' s watch. I can hardly wait for the New York Six to get off because they were not read their rights when captured.

Gotta love the letters to the editor!

Steven, could it be that you are a dope smoking, brainless repeater of liberal thought, card carrying Democrat lemming just blowing a little steam since this was indeed a terrorist act.

Watch out, the cliff is just ahead.

mfgcontroversy,

I agree, kind of proves that we aren't all as smart as we think we are myself included...LOL

I love it, Rush being faulted for NOT saying something. I said it the other day and I will say it again, "This forum is getting weirder everyday." Sorry Roland, but I just had to say it again.

Steven, Brilliance like yours is very, very, rare in this world!!! Everyone is indeed a little bit smarter for having read your poigniant thoughts. Thank You

HI Gail :)

I agree with Loomisresident! For Steven, the cliff in 2010 and that is why he is screaming.

(Yawn)

Another leftist off his psych meds again.

This is one letter that the Auburn Journal could have deleted. I’m all for freedom of speech, but this is just full of lies and name calling. I don’t think Steven is all there.

Patrick50 - You are not "for freedom of speech." You are for freedom to agree with your beliefs.

And Skeptic is for:

"I will tell you who you are and what you believe."

While local advocates of religious profiling condemn the Army nutcase who killed 13 fellow soldiers as an Islamic "Jihadist", they are curiously silent about non-Muslim domestic mass murderers such as:

- Christian "Unabomber" Ted Kazinsky;

- Christian US Army veteran Timothy McVeigh, the Oklahoma bomber who killed 168 people, including 19 children, and damaged 220 buildings;

- Ueber-Christian and former US Army soldier Eric Rudolph, whose remote-controlled bomb killed a woman and an off-duty police officer at a clinic; whose Olympic Park pipe bomb killed a woman and injured more than 100 other innocents; and whose bombs blew up a gay club and woman's clinic.

- Christian US Air Force veteran Dennis Rader, the "bind, torture, kill" (BTK) serial killer who terrorized Wichita for 31 years;

And so on.

My point being that if you're going to lump domestic mass murderers together, don't leave out the infidels who don't neatly fit your theory.

"In alio pediculum in te ricinum non vides." (Petronius)

Skeptic: Did any of the murderers you named (exepting Rudolph) do their crimes in the name of, or to advance, the cause of Christianity? Did any of them shout "Glory to God" or "Jesus saves" just before their killings? Admit it...There is no comparison except for Rudolph. Kazinsky a Christian? ...not likely a practicing one being such a greenie and all. Most mass murderers in a Christian country are going to be Christian...Duh... Is there something in the water that you libs drink that makes you unable to make valid comparisons?

Also at the time, nobody was 'curiously silent' about Rudolph. If his buddies had blown up the WTC---then you would have a valid comparison.

Unfortunately we were not talking about the examples skeptic cited. I have in the past made reference to two of them. However, one thing we must not forget is that his business card did say Soldier of Allah. That pretty much sums it up for me and if you throw in what witnesses claim he shouted prior to the shooting the motive becomes quite clear.

Skeptic doesn't think on his own. He plagerizes left wing web sites and calls himself smart. He is probably the least analytical person I've ever come across. And I've argued politics with some exquisite dumb-shits; but nothing like him.

Freed, I am going to have to steal "exquisite dumb-shits" for future use. It is a very descriptive term and a clever use of the English language. My compliments for a well turned phrase.

J.G.- You don't have to steal it, I will release it to you, free of charge. Thank you for your observation.

Freed and Jon - be careful...Patrick50 is among us...he has a history of having any post removed that includes words he considers to be "dirty". He has had several of my posts removed for using the word "ass"...as in the sentence "FreedTinkerton is an ass." I am sure that if p50 happens across this post he will report you to "the man".

Bastiat, maybe Patrick50 has a problem with horse's behinds getting a bad rap. Maybe you should rephrase the term as in "horse's behind" or "donkey's keister".

BTW, how do you know Patrick50 had your posts removed? Do you have proof?

Also, Gail, you're right about this forum. I mostly peruse and roll my eyes. It's too much effort to post and argue with the walls.

To all: Please note that I ignore Bastiat most of the time as she is obviously a very angry woman. She tends to turn every string into an array of personal insults. Just notice every sting where she has posted turns into a slug fest of insults and put downs. I proved her wrong a month or so ago and she’s been stalking me ever since, hence, my little stalker. The AJ removes the posts, not me. She has had so many of them removed because of her vulgar words. Naturally, the likes of Skeptic and Bastiat will like an insulting letter like the one above; it fits their methodologies. FT, that was too funny!

p50 - too dumb to know when she is right or wrong.

Skeptics post is right on the money about p50:

Patrick50 - You are not "for freedom of speech." You are for freedom to agree with your beliefs.

I say that p50 is arrogant and asinine and he calls that "vulgar" and "dirty" language but at the same time he totally approves of Freed calling people dumb-shi*s...we can always count on p50 to be consistently inconsistent and when it comes to logic and rational argument. Nice work p50!

How many times can Bastiat hang himself....once does the trick.

Bastiat, you are making a fool of yourself.

Mike Gruber, some people cna't get it right at first so they must try until they sicceed.

.....guess so.

Limbaugh doesn't have to comment. This was a disaster decades in the making. An over-the-top PC "diversity" mantra started when I was in the Army in 1974. It's progressed to the point it's almost a sure "career-killer" to report someone like Maj. Hasan. Hasan was supposed to deliver a medical lecture to colleagues. Instead he came out with an Islamist extreme rant where he justified personal IED homicide-bombing as a tactic. The FBI (and probably Army CID) knew SIX FULL MONTHS before Hasan's attack he'd e-mailed a radical Imam asking about jihad and trying to find a secure channel to send funds to support Al Queda. But the FBI now describes that as "research" and "didn't class Hasan as a threat." Are they joking?! If that's the agency gathering "intelligence" to protect America, we're in deep trouble!

Add the fact that the FBI comes out almost immediately after the shooting and categorically states "this isn't a terror attack." When a gunman shouts "Allahu Akbar" as they shoot and kill soldiers, that pretty much makes it a terrorist act.

None of this was said by Rush or any other talking head. I'm tired of pussyfooting around. Military senior NCO's and Officers should be routinely handgun armed and trained, (as are civilian cops) and CCW's should be encouraged. The next time some crook or terrorist attacks, I hope they find heroic good-citizens who take them on.

If there'd been four guns in four sets of trained hands on 9/11, 2,976 Americans would still be alive today

Hang myself? What are you talking about? I call this fun.

:)

p50 - see you just couldn't resist the urge to "ignore" me.

Rock - "four guns in four sets of trained hands on 9/11, 2,976 Americans would still be alive today."

you are kidding right? Estimates indicate that there are approximately 300 million guns in the US and approximately 300 million people in the US yet you believe that 9/11 would have been avoided if only there were four more of each combined with some training? Come on...that is nothing but magical thinking. Get real.

Loomis and Mike, I know you two are intelligent enough to know my smile was intended for the two of you.

way to go Patrick...that's twice now that you have "ignored" me in the same thread...

Bast; I'm not kidding. Four trained and armed people on the 9/11 airliners and we would've saved almost 3,000 lives. I would've gladly been one of the volunteers to try to save those lives. As would most of the cops and military in the country.

Our population figures are closer to 310 million and there are likely more guns than people. But within our society, people are most often wilfully disarmed, which gives them the status of nearly helpless victims. Reduced to fighting with food carts and makeshift weapons like the heroes of Flight 93.

Understand this. If a criminal has a knife at your throat or gun to your head, it's no longer your choice whether you live or die. It's the crooks. Would you prefer to rely on a vicious criminal's "respect for life?" Or their very probably non-existent sense of charity or pity?

Are you against arming senior NCO's and Officers on and off military posts? Personally, I'd like to see them highly trained and armed. Just as long and as often as they were willing to be.

I also encourage trained citizens of good conscience to get concealed weapons permits. I've taught classes on the involved topics and physical skills to citizens, police and military.

Are you against good citizens who legally exercise their Second Amendment rights?

As long as citizens ignore the means of defense, both as a nation and as individuals, we in the United States are and will be increasingly vulnerable to attack.

(Signed: Me. Today's date.)

Rock - my estimates re the numbers of guns and people were very rough as there is not reliable data regarding the number of guns in the US...I just picked numbers that wouldn't cause any heartburn to anyone.

Fighting with food carts? Really? I am sure it happens but of all the things you could pick...food carts?

I am not anti-gun, I am not anti second amendment, I am not anti arming of military officers. I am anti nonsense. Your statement that 4 guns +4 trained hands = no 9/11 is nonsense. The 9/11 attack was planned for a very long time. Given the time and resources these terrorists dedicated to 9/11 there is no question in my mind that they would have eventually killed 3000 Americans in some manner. If, prior to 9/11, we had armed guys on every airplane they would not have chosen that method of terror...they would have gone to plan b, or c, or d, or e, or f...this particular method was one of opportunity...if this opportunity were not available, they would have chosen another.

It is nonsense to suggest that giving everyone in the US a gun and some training will result in less victims and less terror.

Bast. I disagree. The Israeli model does just that. Puts guns in people's hands, that is. Principals and teachers in schools. Businessmen and women on the streets. Streetsweepers and shopkeepers too. But it'd take a lot of change before pampered Americans could or would adopt that model.

And no. I don't think terror operators would have known armed agents were on board. In both Aeroflot and El Al armed security have shot terrorists to death. The stewardesses opened up the bar and the plane continued to land safely at it's destination.

And I've flown legally armed for duty reasons. No one knew I was armed. No one ever saw or tumbled to it. So your argument about terrorists picking another method on 9/11 really doesn't hold water.

If you see me on the street, you won't know whether I'm armed or not. And that in and of itself is a brand of prevention.

I don't think it's nonsense to believe 9/11 could have been stopped by direct action. But you are also correct that the terrorists are going to find another way to kill us. En masse.

So. Are you expecting the other terrorist shoe to drop? And what are you personally doing to prepare?

And your point about the Israeli model is that it has eliminated terrorism in Israel? Well, no...actually it hasn't.

The US already has the most armed populace on the planet and the terrorists are still a threat. Giving every citizen more guns and more training will lead to more terror, not less.

I never said that 9/11 could not have been stopped by direct action. I said that it could not have been stopped by putting an armed guard on every airplane. I stand by that assertion.

What am I personally doing to prepare? Where I live any time I would spend planning to thwart a terrorist attack on my person or my family would be an exercise in paranoia rather than self-preservation. I own firearms and expect that at some point in my life I may use them to protect my family or property against a bear, or a mountain lion, but I seriously doubt I will ever need to take aim at any bomb-wearing jihadists walking down my 100 foot driveway.

All that being said...embracing the model of providing military style training to all US citizens would be a boon to anyone who has chosen to provide this type of training as a career...what is it exactly that you do for a living Rocky?

According to RockyWarren.com, you provide the type of training you believe will save America from the terrorists. I see. Now your position makes perfect sense to me.
