SKYRIDGE SCHOOL DANGERS!
Hello. I recently saw a posting about my son's school and the parking lot and the issues around people (other parents) that are not following the rules and making a very dangerous situation for our children. I have observed what has been happening all year and I am happy that some are starting to speak up about it. Unfortunately the message is not getting to the right people or to those who are violating the rules. This past Friday I witnessed a youg girl narrowly being missed by a 4 door sedan because people had TRIPLE PARKED in red or yellow zones at Skyridge School. You will see that the people who are doing this are lazy. The man who is triple parked in the ======car is only feet away from an empty parking spot. The van next to him was running without anyone in the car. People park in RED FIRE ZONES so they dont have to walk an extra few feet. Cars and Trucks pulling infront and around buses, using the bus lanes and driving way to fast for a parking lot, not to mention a school parking lot. Follow the flow of traffic. PARENTS & DRIVERS GET OFF YOUR PHONE OR USE A HANDS FREE DEVICE!
I am like pmcreal and afraid that it will take one of our KIDS TO DIE or get hurt before people will wake up. Principle Chandler, You have a duty to be sure our students are safe in class on the playground and yes in the parking lot of your school.
THIS NEEDS TO STOP BEFORE WE HAVE TO EXPLAIN WHY ONE OF OUR CHILDRENS FRIENDS WILL NOT BE AT SCHOOL ANYMORE!
90% of the people follow the rules. Why does the other 10% think they are so special that they can break the rules!
I am not trying to cause trouble. it appears that nothing has changed since the other artical was written so that is why I feel it be important to bring attention to this situation.

did you get permission from the people or owners of the vehicles to take this picture??

There is no need to get permission. they are in a public place and there are no pictures of people or anything that would identify individual people. No need for permission. if that were the case traffic cams on all the roads and lights would have to get permission. Thanks for the concern for those who are putting kids at risk, they are people too just like the ones who follow the rules.
Lookingout: So have you gone up and talked to these people? You might want to give it a try. I really doubt that a full-on fit fight would break out.
school is out for Thanksgiving...we will see how things are when we come back from break...there are about twenty people that do it however I believe that a calm reminder would not hurt...thanks
I have encountered this same problem at another school. the cars line up along the curb, which is protocol, but instead of dropping the kids off and leaving, the parents get out of their cars and walk their kids to the classroom. This is incredibly inconsiderate. these parents cause cars to back up into the street waiting for these rude parents to return to their cars. In some cases it has caused the waiting kids to be late for class. I have politely confronted some parents, they get offended and become rude. Then they continue to break the rules. I have complained to the office to no avail. It's very frustrating.
