Applebee’s gave unselfishly
Reader Input
I just wanted to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Applebee’s on Bell Road for the unselfish gesture of providing meals to veterans on Veterans Day. The meal was wonderful, the staff most accommodating. It was so well-attended that we had a short, 15-minute wait and then were served promptly. I am especially impressed that this event had no earmarks of self-serving promotion and I am grateful that the restaurant manager took the time to visit each new patron and give her thanks for their service to our country. This was a very special day. Thank you, Applebee’s. TD Pittsford, Nevada City

I concur
Wow! Hats off to Applebee’s, we do frequent that restaurant but will certainly do our best to go there more often. I like to reward those companies that help or community.
Yes, a heartfelt thanks to Applebees. My wife and I (both vets) took our daughter and the hospitality and food were both wonderful. It was great to see all of the vets there, men and women, from all services and a wide range of ages. I'm sure there were a few WWII vets there - hats off to the greatest generation!
We eat at Applebees on occasion and will continue to do so. It's great to have a business like this in town.
I'll also note that last year I bought a wood splitter at Home Depot in Placerville on Veterans Day. I didn't know it in advance but they had a 10% discount for veterans that day. Without prompting the clerk asked me if I was a vet so I showed her my retired I.D. and saved a big chunk of change. Hats off to Homer, too!
Hey, Miuwtant, it’s good to have you back! How have you and the family been?
They probably felt bad that there food is so terrible and couldn't sell it so they gave it away
