Kiss Your Freedoms Goodbye If Health Care Passes

Congress recognizes no limits on its power. It doesn't care about the Constitution, it doesn't care about your inalienable rights. If this health care bill becomes law, America, life as you have known it, freedom as you have exercised it and privacy as you have enjoyed it will cease to be.

Tomorrow, the House of Representatives will vote on a 2,000 page bill to give the federal government the power to micromanage the health care of every single American. The bill will no doubt pass. It will raise your taxes, steal your freedom, invade your privacy, and ration your health care. Even the Republicans have introduced their version of Obamacare Lite. It, too, if passed, will compel employers to provide coverage, bribe the states to change their court rules, and tell insurance companies whom to insure.

We do not have two political parties in this country, America. We have one party; called the Big Government Party. The Republican wing likes deficits, war, and assaults on civil liberties. The Democratic wing likes wealth transfer, taxes, and assaults on commercial liberties. Both parties like power; and neither is interested in your freedoms. Think about it. Government is the negation of freedom. Freedom is your power and ability to follow your own free will and your own conscience. The government wants you to follow the will of some faceless bureaucrat.

When I recently asked Congressman James Clyburn, the third ranking Democrat in the House, to tell me "Where in the Constitution the federal government is authorized to regulate everyone's healthcare--, he replied that most of what Congress does is not authorized by the Constitution, but they do it anyway. There you have it. Congress recognizes no limits on its power. It doesn't care about the Constitution, it doesn't care about your inalienable rights, it doesn't care about the liberties protected by the Bill of Rights, it doesn't even read the laws it writes.

America, this is not an academic issue. If this health care bill becomes law, life as you have known it, freedom as you have exercised it, privacy as you have enjoyed it, will cease to be.

When Congress takes away our freedoms, they will be gone forever. What will you do to prevent this from happening?

You, sir, are a hysterical idiot. The freedom to be scandalously overcharged for mediocre-at-best medical care by arrogant monopolistic insurance companies who profit from denying care to the ill and dying -- this is not "freedom" , it is exploitation and we are glad to be rid of it!

You are also a liar. The Congress - and the Presdent - were elected by the people. This Congress and this President were elected to, among other things, enact the health care reform that you rail against. Democratic government is not the negation of freedom as you falsely assert; it is the bulwark of freedom, the only barrier the people have against the economic dictatorship of the rich, the corporations they control, and their bought propagandists - like you.

Dear Mr. RKLindlay,

Its disappointing to see an adult calling another adult names. But furthermore, on a higher level. Sorry, that you think that The Congress and the President were elected by the people. technically, not all the US is represented by the vote. Under 50% of the American people actually went out and voted. But no matter. Can I help you realize sir, that people from Europe, Canada, and other countries fly in here and pour in just to get our health care. Do you now why? Because their's is socialized and the quality s extremely poor. The bill seeks to bring all the American citizens down to a lower standardized level of health care, because poor Mr. Bum on the Street doesn't happen to be able to pay for healthcare. Once you do that we become just like socialist Russia, where any incentive to do a good job is taken out. Further, more controllingly, the government is forcing this on us. We must within a year of the bill becoming law, sign up for the healthcare if not, we face a $1000 fine.

Congress is taking away our right to choose as free individuals the type of health care we may need, want, and afford.

WELL SAID POLLYWOG

I'm sorry, I would like to make a correction on what I prviously said. The fie would not be 1,000 dollars but 25,000

REFORM to bring down cost is needed. Care (affordable) for all is needed! That is what the elected need to fix.

RKLindlay: I agree with the substance of your comments and admire your passion. But in the future, please don't be so hard on Pollywog, who although usually wrong, always means well and is always civil.

cgrsoccer: Where do you get your information about this $25K fine? I think you are mistaken. Also, you are mistaken about the quality of European healthcare. It is excellent. And free.

pay no attention to gulliver he has no clue on adult matters. he lives at home with his mother.

get informed on the 25k fines or jail time. i know its hard for you with all the brain damage to focus

get your shots coward.

A4T: If you are going to insult me, could you at least use proper grammar and punctuation? Also, don't call me a coward unless you are prepared to say it to my face. Tell me where and when.

hahah gulliver

dont get me i am afraid of you........... threatening people online only shows your cowardly spineless behavior to be true and factual.

go look in the mirror loser.

Just as I thought.

A4T is hot on the topic of brain damage today.

A4T: Much of what you post I agree with philosophically, but lately you have been extremely rude to everyone. I know that after a while of posting on here we all tend to start feeling pretty beat-up from all the put-downs and attacks on character, but maybe you can try to take the high road and not resort to saying people are brain damaged. Cowards, maybe...but come on.

gulliver = Marty "Nobody calls me chicken!" McFly

I know many will correct me (or point out where they see the errors of my thinking), but here is where I see the comparisons to what this Health Care Bill is doing and those in European Countries with socialized medicine and Canada really fall short.

People liken this to socialize medicine. Folks, the U.S. government, even it it provides insurance, will not own the hospitals, clinics, urgent care facilities nor will the doctors, nurses or other health care providers be employees of the government. Big difference.

Different subject -

RKLindlay, was really calling the judge an hysterical idiot as pollywog only pasted what the judge had written/said, not any thoughts from pollywog...or at least that is the way I read it.

10 q, Rolandmc... I posted because I thought the article interesting... Seems that it got under some ppl's skin. Good. Maybe Americans CAN wake up from their stupored existence and pay attention. The congress is out of control... have been for many years. The position America is in now did not happen over-night; it took many years of American's being distracted by sports, situation comedies, reality TV, and propagandized news for all of this to take place. Add to that the penchant we have to simply' trust' the politicans even though they lie about everything combined with our insatiable need to buy garbage/junk we don't need... just walk into any WalMart, WalGreen, or most pharmacies.

Singing fish anyone?

We're not over this yet... more to come...
