THANK YOU VETERANS ON THIS DAY
HEROES DIE FOR ME
I am the Flag I have been here since this great nation was formed, I have seen each battle fought I have seen the heroes die for me, for my country Thank You all those of you Who have kept me flying in the breeze Keeping this country united as one. Thank You those of you who have sacrificed your lives, Giving up all that I may still fly, Watching over citizens of this nation. Thank You all those of you who have ever fought, I am ever grateful for you. You risked everything; you faced death each day, Faced fear, faced many terrible things. And because of you, my thank you's ring out. Filling the sky, echoing from the hills They find their way to the graveyards. And to all of you still living, You are a special kind of person. To anyone who has ever served this country, And to those serving today THANK YOU.

I found this poem a few days ago on the Internet, I believe it was written by a grade school kid back east. I thought it would be nice to post for Veterans day in support of all our troops and Veterans who are alive today and the ones who have lost their lives to protect us and all Americans. And look who shows up to cause a scene, Y_ Truly, I'm not surprised but I would have hoped he would have not put his garbage out on this Holiday.
In Honor....of those who have honorably served this nation; In Grateful Appreciation.....of those who picked up the torch of freedom and serve today.....:In Respectful Memory....of all who have given the last full measure of their devotion to duty.......THANK YOU!
wayleft: I am not a hateful person, nor am I angry, but for the VFP I do have a special enmity. They are traitors whose role is to undermine the morale of our troops who are fighting for our freedom, and the freedom of others.
They are not Veterans for Peace. They are Veterans and Activists Against The Military. If they were at least honest about that, I could stomach them.

Thank you veterans and soldiers for keeping me free. I am forever in your debt and your sacrifices will not go un-cherished.

There is a difference between one's general demeanor and perspective about people, and how they might feel toward a specific person or group.
I wish I could forgive them for what they have done, but they keep on doing it. (See Ed Scotten's LTE yesterday)
Maybe after the parade today, if all goes well and they fade into the past, I will find the means to forgive them.

Forgiveness is unconditional. All you have to do is simply forgive, it shouldn't be conditional on the outcome of the parade or anything else.

What a nice tribute. Got to get going. Wouldn't want to miss the parade:-)
My wife and I are veterans from families that include many, many veterans from every branch of service who have served in all of the major conflicts of the last one-hundred years (at least). Our family has had members who have paid the ultimate price for freedom, including the man for whom I was named.
For those veterans from my family but more importantly for anybody who has served our great country in any manner as a member of the United States Armed Forces, I salute you all today. I would not turn my back on any one of you. I thank them all for their service.
