Help voiceless wild animals
Reader Input
We all must place our minds together and start helping the wildlife to keep them from entering a freezing winter with lack of food to forage or in the drought of summer lacking water and appropriate foods to maintain a healthy body. These animals have been placed here in the beginning of time and have since been abused and used to the extent of being lethargic and in severe pain. Please, let’s start this very moment and begin to acknowledge how important it is to help our voiceless animals of this beautiful planet. Glenda Jasper, Colfax

You sound like a very kind person, Glenda. I wonder, however, whether nature wants humans to interfere with wildlife, to the extent of sheltering and feeding wild animals. If we sheltered and fed wild animals, they wouldn't be wild anymore.
What would Obama do?
Free market? Nature? What's the difference....
Look out Mother Nature...someone is questioning you methods.
This is one of the most insane posts I have read to date....
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
How old are you Glenda? I sure hope your not over 12 years old. But if you are, I would say that you are in dire need of pyschiatric help!. Otherwise, that was very nice sweetie.
Glenda, what you seem to be advocating is the worse thing we can do for wildlife. If they become dependent on humans their fate is sealed, this is specially true of bears.
It is not only illegal to feed wildlife it is also the worse thing you can do for them.
Your thoughtfulness is appreciated but misguided.
Wild animals have evolved to live outside all year round. They find their own food. They gorge themselves when they eat because they don't know when they will find their next meal. They have also found ways to survive human encroachment. The procreate to save their species.
Glenda, If you are under 12 quit watching Sesame Street and go to Animal Planet or National Geographic. If you are over 12 it's probably to late for you to learn about nature.
Glenda,
Your heart is in the right place, but as has been said, well by some, wild animals are best left wild.
It matters not your age, you are never to old or young to learn so long as you keep an open mind.
The people who owned our house before us used to feed the deer and I don't think it was helpful to them in the long run. It took a couple years to get them to understand that we were no longer going to feed them. Why not let them fend for themselves as nature intended? Then when they get "cut off" it is not so traumatic. Yes, traumatic...it really messed with their deer-minds. They seem to be doing fine now, there are now more of them than ever.
And you say they were placed here "in the beginning of time." You mean they didn't evolve?
The Local Limiteds believe that all animals are outside the Christain admonition against killing, that they exist only for man's pleasure of teaching children to kill them.
Ishmael..such hatred. Are you a VFP or something?
Ishmael: What is your problem? Why do you have to take everything to a ridiculous extreme?
All those that live on this earth have the right to be safe and protected from global warming...if we can pass "Healthcare For All" ...then by all means we should pass "Animal Care For All"...I think these animals should not have to vote to receive our tax payer benefit dollars. I think a special tax on only contractors and independent business.... is in order to fund the agency responsible for construction of all kinds of animal shelters and food shelter for the wild animals throughout the government owned lands. This is fair because it will be these people that will reap the huge tax dollars in this very green program...
We deer that ate P4V's pepper patch are certainly not in pain. matter of fact we were feeling so frisky that one of us had triplets. We also are extremely delighted to hear that poor P4V got a lovely bid to build a fence at $10,000 which will NEVER happen.
If someone is feeding the deer we just wish that they would feed us to the point where we never leave their yard . then we mostly promise to leave P4V's peppers alone.
Also. we deer vote that organic is better than sprayed as P4V's pepper's are much more tooth worthy than those Miracle Grow peppers down the road. It was well worth taking the time to jump over the 6ft garden fence.

fishdella eats fish. i guess he eats them alive because i know he would not kill one.
Yeah, what about those poor fish served up at Ishmael's fish dinners? How do they ummm (can I say it?) kill them? Well, they certainly don't kill them just "for fun" but they do serve them up for some kind of fundraiser event, which is fun I assume. Those poor fish are just being used for entertainment and to raise money. So sad.
HEY ALL! I find Ishmael highly entertaining!!! Now let me go back to finish preparing my sashimi-style spotted owl.
Jack is, as he says, “limited.”
Geez,Obewan! Deer on the dole is not what Glenda's post was all about no matter how much you wish it was.....
Glenda, I see you have a kind heart and love and appreciation for nature. It is not best when we feed the animals of the wild though. It is unjust that we make them no more than pets by doing so. When we take the dignity of their wildness, the result is many end up dead on the roads.
justice41...I understand my comment may have appeared to be over the top...but isn't that how society is gently nudged to move in a particular direction? Yes it is........
