49er Kickin Chickens Continue Winning Ways!
After 8 regular season games, the Chickens remain undefeated in league. "The girls have continued to do what it takes to win on the field, week in and week out," said Head Coach Russ Klug.
Macaylea Mitchell had one goal in each half this last Saturday at Railhead, and the defense posted another shut out sending Vacaville home disappointed. "We saw the other team wearing a chicken hat prior to the game....and poking fun at us. There are not many people making fun of us after our games though," said Asst Coach Bruce Mitchell.
"We have two games left in league, and our goal is to win out. As hard as it is to believe, we are still attempting to get our girls in the best spots to perform. Our upside has yet to be reached," said Russ Klug.
That is a scary thought for the rest of the league. Here are some impressive numbers for the year for the Kickin Chickens;
19 wins.......2 losses.......3 ties
2 Tournament Wins
50 goals have been scored......only 6 allowed!
The latest District 6 standings show the "chicken effect" as the top of the "A" bracket has experienced losses and ties rearranging teams. The Chickens 22 combined points with NO losses comes out as the clear leader in league.
Go Chickens!
