Expect detour in Streetscape area Thursday
Cold weather prompts switch to daytime paving
Traffic will have to be detoured around the Streetscape construction site Thursday for paving work, the city announced Friday. Cook Engineering will pave the High Street/Lincoln Way/Lewis Street intersection during the day on Thursday, Nov. 12. Although the work was originally scheduled for overnight, temperatures will be too cold to be conducive to paving, said Megan Siren, with the city’s Public Works department. The paving will begin between the hours of 7:30 and 9 a.m., dependent on the weather, and continue until approximately 8 p.m. The intersection will be closed to traffic and traffic will be detoured around the Streetscape construction site. Traffic Detours: Westbound Lincoln Way/High Street will be detoured along E. Placer Street to Pine Street. Eastbound High Street will be detoured along Finley Street to Orange Street. Eastbound Lincoln Way will be detoured along Pine Street to E. Placer Street to High Street/Lincoln Way. ~ Michelle Miller-Carl

No problem. I usually take a detour around the entire downtown area. I've never figured out much reason not to.
Thanks for the update on the detour. Good info to know so I can make plans since I work right there.
Oh no, this is really going to give Allan Cassidy a major case of heartburn. Oh well, he'll let us know via another communique.
