Fralick completes ‘Warrior Forge’

Charles H. Fralick graduated from the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as “Operation Warrior Forge,” at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash.

The 32 days of training provide the best possible professional training and evaluation for all cadets in the aspects of military life, administration and logistical support.  Although continued military training and leadership development is included in the curriculum, the primary focus of the course is to develop and evaluate each cadet’s officer potential as a leader by exercising the cadet’s intelligence, common sense and physical stamina.

The cadet is a student at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

He is the son of Barbara H. and Bradley M. Fralick of Auburn.

Fralick is a 2004 graduate of Placer High School and received an associate degree in 2007 from Cuesta College.

Casillas earns culinary degree

Nichole Casillas of Newcastle earned her associate degree in culinary arts from The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St. Helena on May 8, 2009.

Founded in 1946, The Culinary Institute of America is an independent, not-for-profit college offering bachelor’s and associate degrees in culinary arts and baking and pastry arts.

Martinez earns master’s degree

Boston University awarded academic degrees to 1,603 students in September 2009.

Among the graduates was Jamin S. Martinez, of Penryn, who received a Master of Criminal Justice in criminal justice.

The university offers an exceptional grounding in the liberal arts, a broad range of programs in the arts, sciences, engineering, and professional areas, and state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and research.

Stevenson finishes ROTC course

Jeremy M. Stevenson has graduated from the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps Leader’s Training Course at Fort Knox, Ky.

The four-week course is a leadership internship for cadets that can lead to the ultimate goal of becoming an Army officer.  College students experience and examine the Army without incurring an obligation to serve in the Army or ROTC, and are eligible to receive two-year college scholarship offers and attend the Advanced ROTC Course at their college.

The cadet is a student at the University of Kansas, Lawrence.

He is the son of Michael and Peggie Stevenson of Auburn.
