Workshop of little value
Reader Input
As an interested Granite Bay resident, I attended the so-called “workshop” last week and completed the survey provided by the Placer County Planning Department and felt it necessary to make a public comment. It was less of a “workshop” and more of an opportunity to complete a survey. Of the four sections, the first two: 1. goals and policies and 2., proposed changes, were so broadly worded that it would be of no real use of serious effort to assess the opinions of the residents. The phraseology of most of the questions lacked clarity and specificity that would yield a response that is both thoughtful and definitive. Almost all questions were multifaceted and left one speculating on the thrust of the question. In fact, any interpretation of the results could be used to justify just about any position on the continuum of possible responses. This is perfect political fodder and nothing more! But, perhaps, that was the original intent. Garland Bell, Granite Bay

In other words, you saw right through the charade. As you suspect, the interpretation will be based on what the County or the developers or other contributors want to do. But.....they can always say that they came to you and asked for your input.
The Doolittle/McClintock machine at it's best. The BOS are tools. Welcome to Placer County.
