Rosie O'Donnell has a new show and an Auburn guest Tuesday

Celebrity Rosie O’Donnell’s new Sirius XM Radio show is debuting this week and one of the Emmy-award winning talk show host’s first guests looks as if it will be Auburn artist Jan Kapple Klein.

Kapple Klein created a logo for “Rosie Radio,” the live morning radio show that aired its first broadcast Monday. Kapple Klein said she sent a well-received article published in the Auburn Journal written by Shanley Knox to show producer Deirdra Dodd and it may be referenced during the show.

The interview is set for Tuesday’s show. The program broadcasts from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Sirius XM Stars. That’s Sirius Channel 102 and XM Channel 155.

Rosie has a good face for radio.

Wish Ms. O'Donnell would visit Auburn....

there is a very tall bridge I'd like to show her.

Auburn Area Visitior and Convention Bureau may want to add a clause to their brochures....Rosie O'Donnell not welcome...that should help our local economy?

I followed this link because I heard Jan today on Rosie Radio and I wanted to see her work. Auburn sounded so beautiful I and wanted to read a little about the area. I was shocked to see that your community had absolutely nothing nice to say about their semi-famous artist and instead of giving her a pat on the back for another great piece of artwork, I read 3 mindless comments that had only awful and unnecessary things to say about Rosie O'Donnell. Nothing about Jan. It was insulting and rude. Physically, your community looks gorgeous......but unfortunately needs a GIANT "makeover" when it comes to the people living on the beautiful land.

wellmanten: Welcome to the A.J. blog...didn't take you long to get up to speed as to how things go around here.

Wow! I hurt the feelings of an out of town Rosie fan. I would apologize if I were sorry. Maybe instead of talking about art on the radio, the artist could display it some where so it could be seen. Talking about art on the radio is the same as watching poker on tv.

I would love for Rosie to visit! When her show was in it's heyday, I found her to be a positive cheerful presence on the airways. I loved it when she had kids tell jokes- very cute. I am not too familiar with Jan's work, but kudos to her for having her work featured nationally!!

wellmanten, it is Rosie who is, to use your own words, insulting and rude. And by the way, this is still AMERICA, where we still have our 1st Amendment Rights to criticise anyone we want, including Rosie and YOU for that matter, all we want. That is until liberal socialists like Rosie and her ilk supporting BHO who is trying to take away our Constitutional Rights by doing their damdest to control the press, by creating a new "enemies list" to stiffle opposition of any kind that doesn't fall lock-step, no Goose Step, into place with BHO and his administration's ideas of how they want to "change" America. So if you don't like what you're reading here on-line, then turn off your computer and go back to smoking your dope with your domestic partner or whatever you Rosie fans like to do.

It sure nice, they named a flue after her.

wellmanten: I wouldn't be so quick to judge and entire area on a couple posts on a local newspaper website.

GailBegin: Maybe if wellmanten could see more than just ONE poster give proper kudos to the local artist for getting some national attention..which is the point of the article...then maybe he/she would come to a different conclusion.

Thank you steelybob for your lovely welcome, and GailBegin, I absolutely wasn't judging an entire community. However after taking a second look, I do believe I wasn't too far off base. I am hoping that this "paper" attracts this strange breed of people who love to insult and criticize to get a point across, something I haven't ever really understood, and that the normally polite and educated people of your community maybe don't waste their precious time with the people that frequent this paper. I am a bit confused because steelybob sounds great and not sure why there is such a big bunch of you that HATE so much. As I stated in my 1st post....I was merely looking into the area because it looked so pretty and seemed like a place I would love to live and that is why it was a jolt to my system when I read all the mean and hateful words. I wasn't prepared for it...I just assumed a beautiful place would attract beautiful people. ( And I do not mean on the outside) I am quite sure if I ever log back in I will see....."we wouldn't want you here, you dope smoking homo" or "you need to be with the other liberals who all support a socialist society" or "Nah Nah Boo Boo you ugly stupid idiot....why are you even talking to us if you don't like us". Any insult you could through my way would not effect me or HELP you. Why do the majority of you who post here sound so angry and upset. If I woke up with that beauty out my window I would feel blessed every single day.

P.S. ....steelybob...just read your 2nd post and it is SHE! Thanks for backing me up!!

wellmanten - we are so blessed to live here. And most people around here are really wonderful. However, when I saw the picture of Rosie, I just knew that if I checked the comments, there would be a bunch of ugly comments - so predictable. I don't know who these people are that like to be so negative and insulting, but they do not represent our community. Let me know if you ever move here, and I will take you for a lovely walk with a view of the valley and then we could go get a Rattrap sandwich at the local cheese shop.

Rose is a comedian, i dont think she ever said she was any kind of beauty queen, I did listen to part of her show and its not bad..

Hi jayber...now you are EXACTLY what I expected to see and read. I guess I thought I would see a bunch of comments that supported an artist that was just given nationwide validation. Must be a wonderful feeling! Since it was coming from a small community I thought everyone would be proud.....not upset with the radio host. I live in a BIG city and always wanted to move to a small, close, BEAUTIFUL part of our country and it was shocking that it was just more of what I hear everyday in the city. I guess no matter where you go....there a some that will always disappoint. I DO believe you that the majority are not like that.....Thank Goodness!!

wellmanten: I think you are taking this all too seriously. You keep saying that such a beautiful area should mainly be home to beautiful (on the inside) people. I guess you don't really understand human nature. People are people no matter where you live. I used to live in a very ugly part of the country and there were both kinds of people there, too. So before you move anywhere I would get this reality under your skin or you will be sorely disappointed no matter where you move. BTW, by the way you write I think you would much prefer it over in Nevada City.

And, for the record, I am not a Rosie fan at all. Although she has the ability to be very funny, she like Whoopie Goldberg, Wanda Sykes and other comedians have proven time and time again that they have an undercurrent of contempt for any of us who would dare to disagree with them on anything. When these people get their "backs up" they are not "nice and loving" at all in their choice of rhetoric. In fact, they can get downright nasty...but they call is "passionate" so that makes it OK.

Have I tapped into another world or something? I simply wanted to know why people weren't congratulating a local artist for national praise. Then I get people going off into other directions with politics, "passionate" celebrities, views on everything except what the article was talking about. I am not taking it seriously at all. I merely saw three comments that insulted the radio host that praised your local artist. Instead of talking about the ARTIST they were insulting the host. It was strange and kind of odd. I don't exactly know what you meant by saying "by the way I write I would prefer Nevada City". I don't know that area.....But from all of the other comments.....I am assuming it is a sort of insult. (again) Put yourself into the other persons shoes. If I got recognized nationally for a job well done in my line of work and was talking to all of America on the radio about my work and had an article written about it......I would be heartbroken if all I read about the article was How awful the host is and how no one gave a crap about my work. It would have really made me sad. That is all I was trying to say. Relax people.....

yeah... I think the Journal should have led with Jan's photo instead of Rosie's.

I would think folks would pay Rosebud to stay free and clear of their products and businesses.

I bet Charlie Manson was never offered a spot in an Ice Cream commercial....

Yeah Gruber, when I think of Rosie O'Donnell, I'm immediately reminded of Manson....Geesh, get a grip man!!

Wow!! Really?? ... this whole thing makes me kinda ...sad. I love my townvand am so very proud of where I live, but I don't think we have a fair representation here. I am a conservative American woman, who happens to be a long time local Auburn artist who got a very nice break from a celebrity she may not agree with politically, but still really appreciated the promo and exposure. I would think my town would be happy for me. And I still think they are, just not here. I am all for having disagreements of thought, but its the immature and mean spirited-ness I see here that embarrasses me and makes me feel bad for our town and how we are represented in this forum by some of you.

Of course I am happy for you Jan.

But Rosie O'Donnell, in my opinion, is toxic.

There is more about Rosie in the article than you.

There is not a picture of you, or a piece of your Art......just Rosie.

As you can tell, that woman makes my blood boil and I apologize for allowing that to

dampen the excitement of your special day.

Three paragraphs about you!

Pictures of your Art!

One sentence at the bottom about the spot of Rosie XM!

I am sorry.

But Rosie brings out the worst in me.

steelybob,

...you too huh!

Mikegruber

I agree 100% with everything you've said!

Yahooligan: Of course you do; with the terms "yahoo" & "hooligan" as your moniker, I can't say I'm surprised.
