Placer High Band rocks

The Placer High Band is on fire!

Under the direction of David Lawrenson, we have seen the Placer High band steadily improve. We know they can play, we know they can march, but, who knew they could dance?

If you did not attend last Friday’s varsity game against Lincoln you missed out on quite a treat. The stands were packed with fans anticipating exciting and entertaining games against Lincoln, but the band’s halftime show, “A Tribute to Michael Jackson,” was the cherry on top.

When the band’s 85 members took the field and started to play and march we all rocked out to “Thriller,” but when the instruments were set aside and the band started to dance, the cheers and applause were deafening.

Mr. Lawrenson and band members – thank you for all of your dedicated hard work – you make us proud. For those of you who missed this fabulous performance, there will be a repeat at next Friday’s game against Colfax.

A great football game and great entertainment – who could ask for anything better on a Friday night in Auburn?

We have an opportunity to support such quality during the upcoming Christmas tree sales at PHS.

Right on Debby! I wish I had written that letter. We're very proud of our Golden Hillmen Band and the performances they have given under Mr. Lawrenson.

Wonderful show last Friday night. Let's shake it loose for Colfax!

From one who observed the backside of your performance on Friday night, I can imagine how good it was. Your band looked terrific in its uniforms and the music was great. While I know that the band's main customers is its own student body, it would be nice to 'share' for music lovers on the other sideline!!

The other high school band that's pretty darn impressive is Sonora's. I understand that their bandleader has left, but when they came to play at Colfax a couple of years ago for a playoff game, they were rockin' all night! It was good to hear them because our little band didn't bother to show up and support the Falcons.

If Colfax doesn't make the playoffs, I'm coming down to catch your games.....if only to get a chance to watch and hear the band from YOUR side of the field!

Sports aside, ROCK ON HILLMEN!!!!! Do you take requests???????????
