One of the biggest upgrades at the new Boys & Girls Club is the gym, giving kids like Chris McDonnell, 11, a safe, separate area for recreation.

Construction is complete on the new 15,000-square-foot clubhouse facility for the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn.

In combination with satellite clubs meeting at two local schools, this new facility at 679 Lincoln Way will enable us to expand our impact beyond the thousands of youth we have served since 1994.

With two kitchens, technology center, performing arts center, gymnasium and other specialized venues, our new clubhouse helps young people develop life skills, leadership and responsibility.

In fact, there’s only one thing missing … and that’s where you come in.

The Boys & Girls Club of Auburn needs to raise $350,000 by Dec. 31 – the final funding necessary to completely pay off this $1,875,000 project.

Clearing that final financial hurdle is the mission of the Community Campaign for the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn. Your gift of any size will help pay off the clubhouse and directly impact the future of our community.

You will be able to track our progress toward this goal on thermometers strategically located around Auburn.

By investing in today’s generation, you make Auburn a stronger, safer, more satisfying place for the next generation.

Since 1994, the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn has served local youth with positive programs and activities, helping them become productive, responsible citizens with a sense of competence, usefulness and belonging.

In addition to structured activities, teamwork exercises and skill-building opportunities, our members receive homework help and tutoring while being steered away from alcohol, tobacco, drugs, premature sexual activity and other destructive choices.

By working with government officials, schools, community leaders and parents, we foster a supportive environment that puts the needs of children first.

These partnerships create a seamless network of support – providing everything from homework help to leadership development programs to fitness and financial literacy.

Growing up in today’s world isn’t easy for anyone, but for those who need us most, it’s tougher than you think.

Please help us raise the $350,000 needed to fully fund the new club facility that represents their hope – and our community’s – for a brighter future.

Your help is urgently needed today. Make your gift of any size, and help the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn continue to make a positive impact on young people and our community!

I still need to hear somebody say, "THERE WILL BE NO BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB FACILITY IN THE AIRPORT OVERFLY ZONE EVER!"

SO how about it, Randy? Bonnie? Bill Mullin? Anybody? Bueller? Anybody?

A very worthy cause indeed. Let's keep our youth focused on learning and having good clean fun - and off of the crime logs!

With all the in-your-face tactics of the religious right lately, I read the article VERY carefully. Religion isn't mentioned once. I smell a rat. If this is truly secular, I will make a donation. If not, this article is deceptive. And they need to pass around their wicker basket. You don't get it both ways.

In response to nicklbag, the Boys & Girls Club is totally secular. There is no religious affiliation. We're fairly secular ourselves, and we've donated to the Club since it started, and have visited it, and in the last couple of years our daughter has attended it. The new location has made an amazing difference to the kids and the quality of services the Club can offer. I urge everyone to support this positive and essential addition to our wonderful community. And thanks to those who have worked so hard to bring a Boys and Girls Club to Auburn!
