Norman MacLeod Receives Four Avenues Of Service Citation

The Auburn Daybreak Rotary Club would like to share a very exciting event for Rotary International. Norman MacLeod received the highest recongition for all his years as a proud Rotarian. On October 14, 2009 District 5190 Governor Janice Gage presented Mr. MacLeod with the Four Avenues Of Service Citation along with a personal letter congradulating Mr. MacLeod from Rotary Internation President John Kenny. Mr. MacLeod has lived the motto of "Service Above Self" for 50 plus years and has no intention of slowing down. He is an inspiration to all that meet him. There wasn't a dry eye at the Marie Callenders 7am meeting as Norman accepted this surprise. For the first time, that we have ever seen, he was speechless. This is one of the highest awards a Rotarian can get and it was an honor for Daybreak Rotary President Dennis Williams to make this happen. Mr. Williams wrote a personal letter asking RI President Kenny to write a letter to Mr. MacLeod. It is not common for the RI President to write such a letter, but Mr. MacLeod's continued dedication to Rotary touch the RI President's heart. Norman MacLeod has touched all of our hearts and makes Daybreak Rotary proud to know such a man. To meet Mr. MacLeod and all of Auburn Daybreak Rotary, please join us at Marie Callenders each Wednesday morning at 7am.
