Teen arrested for assaulting her stepdad

A 14-year-old Newcastle girl was arrested after she allegedly threw a metal box at her stepfather.

The girl, whose name was not released because of her minor status, was arrested at about 4:14 p.m. Oct. 24 on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon at her parent’s home, according to a Placer Sheriff’s Office report.

The Horizon Charter student was reportedly in a heated argument with her stepfather over her bedroom door not closing properly, the report stated.

She reportedly slammed her door several times and was yelling profanities at her family.

As her stepfather was calling 9-1-1, the 14-year-old allegedly threw a 12- by 10- by 4-inch black metal medicine lock box at her stepfather’s back. The box, which contained her medications, reportedly caused a “large abrasion” on the victim’s back.

The 14-year-old then reportedly picked up the box and hit her stepfather on the back of the head.

The teen allegedly pushed her stepfather against a wall as she left the house, the report stated.

What a poor little girl, I sure here step-dad deserved it. She's only 14 so give her another chance, she won't do it again.

This 14 year old girl needs counseling. She is way out of line. Even if the step-father deserved it or not. auburnnative why give her another chance? she needs help....

I'm glad she was arrested. If the situation was reversed, the stepfather would've been arrested in a heartbeat.

Sounds like she needs an a** whoopin'! If I had EVER acted like this girl, I would have had a sore butt for a week! Kids in today's society believe they deserve everything be given to them and that they automatically deserve it. I do not know the family, so I do not want to place blame on the step-father, he may just be the target of her aggression. But the girl needs to be locked up and straightened out, but I do not believe it would qualify as a felony charge! That is a bit extreme.

This sounds like the biography of my ex-wife...."The Teenage Years."

Girls gone wild.sounds like its a little late for behavior modification, glad she was arrested good job PCS...

remember the good old days when you could spank the kids withought a visit from CPS. ( before you get all child abuse on me, I'm talking about spanking not beating or burning, O.K.?)

Too bad she doesn't have a dog to sic on people and then she could avoid arrest for her aggressions.

one word for you all PERCEPTION! I am sure there is more going on than just a "out of control teen" The WHOLE FAMILY I am sure has issues. I agree with justchill sometimes a good ol fashioned butt whipping is just the right approach. Creates a very difined boundry so there is no miscommication as to the rules.

Devils Advocate here: Maybe stepdaddy has some cotrol issues? it is easier to push her off on the system than actually take active approach in raising his step daughter?

You all missed the important words in this story . . . "The box, which contained her medications," Maybe this girl is on medication for a mental illness. Something an a$$ whopping or your misunderstanding won't help. In any case her father took the appropriate action for an out of control or crisis situation.

Mickey: Sometimes Kids dont really need to be on meds the parents do, just some food for thought. No one knows the whole story after all we are taking it from AJ

Funny, nicklbag, good to have some humor in a disgusting story.

She has meds. Probably to treat what she is made of. Of course the whole family has issues; they have to live with her. And because of her age, she has no responsibility. That's too bad, because if responsibility isn't placed squarely where it belongs (or even worse, misplaced), things will only get worse and effect more than her poor family.

we can all only assume what happened, but it`s easy to blame the parents, so easy. Kids know very well that they can be a lifelong victim of their childhood...it`s basically a good and fruitful excuse for every problem later on in life, ie. , drug use, divorce, financial problems, etc. Blended families only work if the natural parents work together; if they don`t everyone is doomed.

Things are not always what they seem. There are 2 sides to every story. And where the hell do you think a teen learned that kind of anger?!?!?!

Mahal12, teenager...girl...hormones...emotional...drama...attitude...that is unless of course there are mental health issues. Almost every teenage girl I know acts like that.

Some of the best parents I know have struggled with out of control teens. It wouldn't have mattered what they did or didn't do, and in most cases they tried everything. There could be family based contributing factors, or this might just be a kid hell bent on self destruction. It's not fair to judge. The fact that there is a lock box with her medications in it raises a red flag for me. I'm sorry for her but I'm even sorrier for her parents.
