Allen,

It is a good thing for you that blogging under the influence is not a crime in California.

Umm...ah...um...I am not sure what to say, so I am not going to say anything at all. Oops I said something. Dang.

...

Which issues are we not talking about today?

For some reason I am reminded of back when I was a young kid.

We used to drive up to the mountains and as we passed this little store on the side of the road, there was this young man who just sat there and waved at the cars.

As I grew older, every time we drove by that store, the same man was there waving, but he got older.

A few years ago, I drove by that same store and now he was an old man.

He seemed happy.

That made me happy. I usually waved back.

Have a nice day Allen.

Yo_Sam,

You're going to hell, no question.

Yes.

That's actually pretty funny. Thanks for the laugh, Yosemite. :)

How about this one... "While I disagree with what you're not saying, Allen... I'll defend your right to not say it." ;)

Birch, Skeptic, Yosemite, Greg, Josezf and Gail - - being lighthearted? There is a god. ;-)

No, Skeptic. There is a God.

I wonder how Allen is feeling this morning :)

Ooops sorry Skeptic my post above about God/god was out-of-line because Allen can bring out the best, most compassionate, loving, caring and even tolerant non-judgemental let's all agree-to-disagree side of us. Even in you...well maybe, ha. A true miracle has taken place folks.

I recall posting a comment that said something like preach and let preach. Let it never be said that I will not admit when I was wrong, and I was.

Allen, going from memory, I believe you expounded on the Streetscape situation and sympathized with the merchants and what's really not to agree with here? You are right: The merchants are not having the ride of their life but the question begs: Why did no one speak up from the get-go? Are the merchants victims of their own bad choice in not opposing the project. Was it a case of ignorance in that the retailers and other business people Downtown simply had no idea what they were in for? Bill Kirby, where art thou?

Business is so sucky right now it probably would make little difference if this Streetscape project weren't going on. I would imagine there couldn't be a better time to do it.

People complain if the mail is late, or too early, so having your sidewalk torn up, your parking reduced, and the front of your building looking like a dangerous proposition to approach just might be enough to even tick-off some of the normally more reasonable merchants.

Allen - Glad to see you back. Can I make a suggestion? Could you actually respond by commenting, rather than writing a new blog each time you write?

chase2you, we won't know how Allen is feeling this morning, he's not saying.
