Sheriff’s bust burglary ring
Victim property at Auburn station
Placer Sheriff’s detectives arrested three men Thursday in connection with a “huge” burglary ring. Over the course of a month, detectives connected the suspects to numerous vehicle burglaries in Placer, El Dorado, Sacramento and Yuba counties. Ruslan Zhurko, 26, Igor Ogorodnikov, 37, and Roman Lukovsky, 23, were arrested Thursday and booked into Placer County Jail on multiple charges involving vehicle burglary, trafficking and identity theft. Last month, detectives Dan Blair and Ryan West started their investigation after Folsom Police officers told them they found property stolen from Placer County after they arrested Vadim Zhurko, 29, Ruslan’s brother. “Once we had his name we were able to tie him into one burglary, then two, then three and it snowballed from there,” Blair said Thursday. Detectives served a search warrant at an Antelope home where they found the three suspects and up to 1,000 pieces of stolen goods. Blair and West said the home, located on Lone Ridge Court, was used as a fencing operation, where other thieves brought their stolen property. Blair said he is fairly certain that some of the property is from a series of Newcastle burglaries. He said there is no dollar estimate of how many items were seized but added that it took two filled trucks to transport the property to the Sheriff’s Department in Auburn. “As of right now it’s in the thousands of dollars certainly,” Blair said. Victims can view the property on Tuesday, Oct. 20 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Placer County Sheriff’s Department located on 2929 Richardson Drive in Auburn. Blair added that this arrest will help prevent further property owners from becoming victims. “The people who were plaguing all those places will be behind bars,” Blair said. Russian car burglers? It can't be.
I certainly hope they get deported after they serve their punishment.
I recognize the Igor Ogorodnikov guy, He's the same guy that hit my car in Lower Lake Clemantine and gave me fake insurance information, No wonder he got so nerviouis when I tried to call the police (Good luck getting cell reception at LLC)..Cost me $500 Deductable, Will pass on this info to my insurance..
tear down that wall mr gorbachev, thanks ronnie
Liars, Cheaters and Thieves...
Ruskis, my favorite people. they have definitely left their mark at the Ponderosa Bridge area, Lake Clementine, upper and lower, Sugar Pine Reservoir. Yes siree, what a great bunch. Can't deport them, they would be persecuted for their religious beliefs.
Patriot, you should have lived under their boot soles when they were powerful occupiers, they just as soon kill you than pat you in the back. Of course if they patted you in the back it was to take your wallet.
Rude Russians thieves. I am so tired of the obnoxious ways ... I just love when I am in a store and I hear them screaming at eachother in Russian.... so annoying! Glad to see them locked up, too bad their still getting our money sitting in our jail.
Every nationality or race has it's share of undesirable folk, not defending these Russians actions but reality is what reality is. Not one group of people is any better than another.
No Chase, apparently you're wrong. Based on the indisputable logic of these comments I have learned these facts:
1. Russians are all thieves.
2. All Russians are bad people.
3. All Russians litter terribly.
4. All Russians are obnoxious.
5. Russians will kill you.
6. Russians are all liars.
7. All Russians are cheats.
8. We are sad the wall was torn down.
I can't wait for the next white guy to get arrested... I'd like to know what those folks are all about.
Thank you, Auburn!
no problem
Birch, you are correct, have we heard anything about the Placer County Sheriff Lieutenant that was arrested in Rocklin for firing his gun into the air five or six times. It made the Sacramento news but not a word in any Placer County news outlet. Even the Sac news wouldn't give his name. Is it a cover up? In Placer County it seems anything goes, ignore it and it will go away. With the example set by Miller, Rockholm, Uhler, etc. I guess we can expect the rest to follow suit.
By the way, I know you have a great heart and think the best of people. Unfortunately i have had a lot more contacts with Russians than you have and in an occupier- occupied situation. No, not all are bad, there is always good ones and bad ones but it seems that under the guise of religious persecution we have gotten our share of the bad ones here. Basically the same thing that happened when Castro cleaned out his prisons and sent us the very best during the Mariel evacuation days, remember that one? You know, in a free country it is much easier to incur in illicit activities and thus not only much more profitable, if caught the country clubs that pose as jail and prisons are much more bearable than those in their Motherland.
Likely the same bunch of perps that stole my friend's Acura out of his driveway (and got caught). These folks are the dearth of Clementine and Union Valley Reservoirs. Deport them.
I have met some very nice (usually very religious, Catholic) Russians, but I do agree that in the past 5 years, Placer County has had a serious Russian problem. I'm from Foresthill, they did a real number up at Sugar Pine a few years back. Now we have a Sheirrif on patrol up there. They also stole some things from the local store ( No I don't mean all the Russians). I do believe they are a big threat in Placer County and a good portion of our jail is occupied by Russians. Actually when one of my friends was in PC Jail, he had a Russian cell mate who wanted a pen pal. I read his letter before I went to pass it on. He said that he was in jail for a DUI, but I thought it was a little fishy that he was going to be in jail for 10 months for a DUI. So I looked him up on the Jail Register and he was in for Armed robbery and burgarly.
I only find this group to be a major threat because of there numbers. Whenever there was an incident and the Sheriffs were called by the time they got there, there was twice and many Russians than originallly.
Hey Loomisres, Based on the amount of comments you post it is clear that you think very highly of yourself. The Sheriff Lt. comment was a little off topic. Maybe the guy didn't do what was ALLEGED! Aren't law enforcement officers afforded the same presumption of innocence as the common red book carrying ACLU member? Unfortunately perceptions like yours are far too common.
I had a group of Russians perform window removal & installation on my home. Very nice group and very friendly. They did a great job.
I ran into a couple of dirty guys who were speaking Russian in a store in Auburn and figured they were low-lifes.
I have friends who are black, hispanic, asian, native-american, jewish, catholic, protestant, atheist, and guess what I have found from all my years? The problem is not racial, religious, ethnic or gender...its culture.
There are people from any given race that have a culture that respects others, and then there are people from any given race that have no culture at all, or a culture of "gimme gimme gimme". This gimme culture is often paired with a "and if you won't gimme, I will take" attitude.
To assume that because these guys are Russian, any attribute can be ascribed to them other than "They must have that gimme or I will take culture" is wrong. Crooks are crooks.
Hey Smith278 , cant we deport them if they are convicted of crimes here in the US?
Russians have invaded this area, look at the elderly care home care system... russians are buying houses in nice neighborhoods and turning them into conv. homes... it nice having your kids exposed to dead elderly people monthly.. Both Conv. Homes in Loomis are ran by russians on Chisolm Trail ( remember a few years ago- russian killing geese and feeding the geese to elderly clients) Russians do anything that is easy and cheap.... within a week of being in US, they have medi-cal cards, welfare and other social services sponsored by the Russian Sponsoring Church... yes- " the other white meat" is not good for america. And how nice of them to come up to our area and steal, deface, and scare our children, but go home to Antelope, Rio Linda, Rancho Cordova, Yuba City..... but don't look at them because then you will be racial profiling...... Worry less about the other minorities, watch out for "the other white meat"
i am shocked to say the very least. I can not speak in regards to any one in the group other than Roman.......He is a wonderful human being full of love and a wonderful spirit. it breaks my heart to have found out that he is involved in any thing of this nature. My heart goes out to the victims but it goes out to my friend as well. And I pray that he is treat fairly and with justice. As well as everyone involved, both victims and him. I do not know the others but may God be with them as well.
Our community did not deserve such behavior from this group of people. As for people making comments because they are Russian. Shame on you. Russians are good, hard working people. I am not Russian. I do in fact have many Russian friends and I am proud to say that they are a beautiful and
Loomis: You probably have had more contact... with Russian soldiers in a time of Revolution. I'm not surprised that you'd have an unfavorable opinion of them. But.. you've also expressed that we shouldn't brush with such wide strokes. On that I agree.
Yosemite: I agree with you. It has nothing to do with race... culture is another thing.
Juanita: Ignore the usual cries of "help" from the peanut gallery. This is the same crowd that finds it funny when a person kills themselves. Take it all with a grain, no wait, a huge gain of salt. Take pity on them... they know not what they do...
To other assorted riff-raff: Consider that these men are actually Americans. Maybe they're not... maybe they are. We don't know. If they're here on a work or visitation visa then yes, we can let them go. If they have been naturalized... then they are our problem. Perhaps this is an American cultural phenomenon we're looking at? Crime? Check. Violence? Check. Burglary? Check. Sprinkle in some drugs and we've got us a good 'ol fashioned, Red, White, and Blue crime spree fellas.
Mark44, buddy, for one I can't stand the ACLU. Secondly if LE is afforded the same presumption then why do the three guys in the story have their names and pictures plastered in the paper. The reason you thought I was off topic is because one of the readers made a comment that my comment about the three was racially motivated, this guy plays the race card at every opportunity. So, I brought up the Sheriff story.
Yes, I think very highly of myself, I have never committed any crimes and no one has ever been forced to cover up for me and your bias is showing. I guess if you were the arresting officer you would give your peer all the benefit of the doubt such as pick up the spent shell casings and load up the magazine. Then you can say that the witnesses were hallucinating and nothing really happened.
By the way, I usually side with LE but if this is not a cover up then I don't know what a cover up is, unfortunately living in Placer County we are exposed to cover ups all the time, just reference Uhler, Rockholm, etc.
Please clarify something for me. Wasn't the crime(s) these people were arrested for also ALLEDGED or does that only apply to certain individuals.
And by the way, the story about the Lt. shooting into the air from his driveway while wearing pajama bottoms and T shirt when it was reported on CH. 10 would not allow for comments and it has since disappeared. Funny, huh. Care to elaborate.
Loomis: Are you talking about me in regards to the "race card" thing? I really don't see that I do, if you meant me. (you usually reserve that for Skeptic - but he's not here.) I never said your comment was race motivated. You're way off topic. Go back and look at what I said to you, please.
I don't know anything about Russians, but those three guys got a mean, scary look to them.
I can't wait for the next white guy to get arrested... I'd like to know what those folks are all about.
Thank you, Auburn!
Birch, you wrote the above so I brought up the Placer Lieutenants news since more than likely he was a "white guy", not that the Russians aren't white. Forgive me if I'm wrong but "white guy" sure sounded like the race card to me. To my knowledge or recollection I have not called skeptic racist, I know that some have called him anti Semite but that wasn't me.
Loomis: I was being facetious. I know full well what whites are all about. I was just saying, in a roundabout way, that I'm sure no one here would like it if the next time a couple of white guys (of the western European variety) got in trouble and a bunch of folks started in with "You know how dirty and crime infested whites are."
I forgive you for being wrong... but I don't think I play the race card. I'm sure I've brought up race when it appears people are ganging up on someone for their race but "playing the race card" is something else. I'm not some guilty white liberal, Loomis.... contrary, perhaps to popular opinion.
Some folks have accused Skeptic of playing the race card. Probably wasn't you. The 'ol "anti-Semite" thing pops up every time Skeptic or I criticize the Israeli government. It's just a weapon people use to squash any debate on the issue.
I have to say I was taken back a bit when you said "this guy plays the race card at every opportunity" because I knew you brought up the cop after speaking with me. We get along pretty well, especially compared to how we used to, and (crazy as it sounds) it bothers me that you'd think that about me. I suppose it's something I could look at about myself but I would ask you to reconsider that maybe I don't actually do that. Like I said, if it's me... I'll look at it, but I hope you were just mad that guy for his "high horse" remark and took it out on me.
Peace,
Birch
Loomis, please do some research on the law before wasting everyones time with such an ignorant post. The LT was not arrested. The three burglars WERE arrested, therefore it's public record. As far as your reference to eye witnesses, are they ever mistaken? Or are eyewitness statements just assumed to be accurate and truthful all the time?
Juanita-
Where was Roman's love and spirit for other people when he was stealing their stuff? In his greedy deeps pockets thats where. What was fair about him stealing? Did I miss something, I am sorry I have no pity for humans such as these, actually no I am not sorry... during the day when I am gone at work their out plotting in my neighborhood what and how they can steal something next. Why work when you can have the fruits of my labors for free....
hahahaha idiots hope you like it in jail!
Harleyrider, it's pretty hard to do research when there seems to be a cover up, this didn't happen, I guess. Channel 10 was just kidding, weren't they and yes, the original news did say he was arrested. However, when I went back to reread it, guess what, it had disappeared, I don't know about you but it got me wondering. Come on, you know I'm on your side 99.9% of the time but Placer County is getting dirtier by the minute, enough. Let's not have the thin green line here, let's leave it to the large Counties.
You have been less than honest by stating over and over that you have no connection to the PCSO, so if that is true then you must be a groupie since you only post when they are involved. I just call them like I see them, I have nothing to hide. I'll quit now before I start getting on my soapbox, I just hope LE everywhere are as attentive to the civil rights of everyone as you want them to be to this guy. Probably blanks, so nothing goes up and then down with enough speed to maim or kill.
Take your time coming up with some more excuses, have a great weekend.
This is not a race problem, it is a PEOPLE problem. Our world is now so mixed racially and culturally, that to get going on *color* doesn't really work anymore. It is like Y-S said (and NO I am not his "lap dog") this is about culture and I would say also *individual character*. Every race has its upstanding members and its "trash." Clearly these guys are the trashy element of the Russian community. Same goes for whites (which I guess these guys are), Mexicans, blacks (however that is defined), Asians, Pacific Islanders...whatever.
I agree with Birch and YS. Race isn't the issue. Actions are.
Loomis, the subjects in this story were actually arrested, hence the photos and names. I would have disagreed with mark44 about you being biased..until your second to last post. Then I changed my my mind. I was all set to defend you until you articulated very strongly your anti-cop bias. I was surprised. By the way. News 10 never said he was arrested. It said there was an investigation. I guess it is easier to say the story has been buried and changed than to admit you were wrong.
Realist: Just because the Lt wasn't arrested, doesn't mean it should be the end of the story. The public still has a right to know the particulars regarding the circumstances surrounding an individual firing off several shots from a handgun in a suburban neighborhood.
Loomis. Go back and read the story or ask 10 for a link. And of course you know the media is never wrong or erroneous in their reporting. I also like how you completely ignore the PC detectives' fine work. You say I'm a groupie, I say you are a hater.
Thats insane, crazy there's a russian burglary ring...in northern california no less.. haha
Oh and loomis, of course there's a cover up. Did you know the county is hiding UFOs too?
Harley, I don't hate LE by any stretch of the imagination, calling me a hater makes you look stupid. Why don't you demand the same journalistic excellence when the topic doesn't involve PCSO? The fact that we haven't seen anything in Placer County news media in my opinion is a blackout, cover-up or whatever you want to call it.
Just read my posts in defense of LE and either apologize or shut up.
I still think that you're either part of PCSO or a groupie. I don't know about you but I don't feel good knowing that amongst us there is someone legally carrying a gun that has either an anger management problem or a drinking and shooting problem.
Realist, like I told Harleyrider, look at my posts and you will see where I am in regards to LE, not just in this case but all other posts of mine. The fact that there has been no mention whatsoever in Placer County news media and that the story disappeared from Channel 10 and never allowed comments makes me think that someone is calling the shots as to what is being told about this case. As a citizen I have the right to ask questions and expect answers when public safety is compromised. I don't know about you, but in my opinion someone firing live ammo into the air is a danger to those residing around him or her. Furthermore, I would hate to think that we allow someone with that little regard towards the safety of the public to carry a gun. Yes the case is being investigated, I guess the neighbors can't readily identify him when he's wearing pajamas.
There is something fishy about this, no doubt in my mind and the more that those like mark44 and harleyrider try to cover it, downplay the witness accounts and make excuses and false accusations the more I doubt that we're not in a cover up situation, after all, it is Placer County where you have people like Miller, Rockholm and Uhler playing by their own rules at the expense of County employees and citizens alike.
If there is nothing to hide on this let it out and come clean for all to see, if they keep hiding it from view the suspicion will be there. I guarantee that a retirement will be announced with no mention of this.
Loomis. I think the one demanding apologies and telling others to shut up is the one wine the anger problem. You need therapy bub. I'm sure there's a reason channel 10 took it off their site and no othe journalistic organization has touched it. Put 2 & 2 together. And if you still think Placer County has the power to shut down websites and censor the news the. You may require two different therapists. As far as you assuming things about me I could care less. Now go light some incense and calm down.
I hope they rot in jail for a couple of years and then are sent back to russia for jail time there
harley, at least I don't go around shooting. I guess we can leave that to your buddy. I also think that in your blind love for PCSO you make assumptions rather than understand what you read. I never asked for any apologies, just facts and I certainly do not have the authority to tell any one to shut up, we are still a free Country, not a police State which suppresses dissenting thoughts.
I still stand by my opinion that anyone that gets mad enough or drunk enough to lose all trace of common sense and show total disregard for the safety of those he's sworn to protect should not be allowed to carry a gun. What could happen if he stopped some smart mouth kid who really got under his skin? Start shooting up in the air, or worse? Come on, sometimes there are things that have no defense, be objective.
I still say we'll see a retirement in the Sheriff Department soon with no mention of this at all. Unfortunately he will still be allowed to carry a weapon.
It must be horrible to live in a free society when there is something to hide. OK, I won't call this a cover up, is a news blackout more to your liking?
Loomis, not everything is a conspiracy. Frankly, I'm not sure why you have focused so intently on this issue. This is a story of cops arresting burglars. Happens every day and good for them for doing it. Burglars belong in jail. How did this morph into something else entirely? (please don't bother to answer that question). While I won't be as insulting as Harleyrider, I don't understand your fascination with changing the topic. I do agree that our county leadership has some ethics problems, but I don't lump our cops into that problem. But hey, that's just me.
Realist, read my other posts and you'll get the answer to your question. It probably would have been the last time it was mentioned. However, when someone like Harleyrider tends to dismiss something that serious and starts coming up with excuses, it starts bringing up questions, now I really have a bunch. I don't look for cover ups around every corner but this one sure smells funny. I don't believe I am the only one with the concerns I have stated, I'm sure his neighbors are pretty concerned also, not only about the shooting but possible retaliation also. I support law enforcement, I believe that they uphold our laws but I don't believe they are above it.
Really simple when you look at it that way.
That_one:
Ignorance is bliss..... If you know you any thing about history. This great country of ours was built by thieves and rebels. I do not agree with what Roman has done. It is wrong. You, friend are in a worst place than jail. you live in ignorance. Stealing is a crime . NO doubt! but your state of mind is a sin.... My professor once said " where there is great ignorance in a community, every citizen suffers. " Roman will pay for his crime and then God willing will change his ways and grow from it . I hope you do not stay in the state of ignorance al l your life . That would be crime to yourself. I am a victim as well. I am not without loss. Not from this group. but from a young ignorant young man who stole my car juat two weeks ago. His reason .I do not know. I do not care. But, if he can learn from the time that he will spend in jail and change his ways. That was worth the loss of a car. Humanity is self distructive . IF you are not part of the solutions. Stop giveing your opinion. Because just like your actions they are empty..
loomisresident, 'Just read my posts in defense of LE and either apologize or shut up.' you wrote that on 10/18 at 0858AM. Then you write later that you don't have the right to tell anyone to shut up. Is the senility and paranoia setting in or what? As far as your assumptions about my posts I have posted several times on other topics. You only seem to notice when I post about the county. Is that because you are obsessed with PCSO? Therapists can do wonderful things for you my angry little friend. Good luck. By the way, I like how you have now added that the guy accused of shooting in the air was now possibly drunk. Where did you pull that info? Glad you aren't in a position of trust.
Auburnite- Most of the people from Russia that are in Placer County Jail are not citizens of the United States. And I think there crimes would have to be very serious for the United States to deport some one of Russian decent who is an American Citizen. I do not know if these three are legal citizens.
