Jordan Roper and Austin Dunn scored second-half goals and Placer dominated possession to beat Casa Roble 2-0 in its final Pioneer Valley League tuneup in Orangevale.

Cameron McCallister and James Wilson assisted the goals for the Hillmen (7-4-1), who outshot the Rams 23-8.

Nick Mitchell and Clay Campbell anchored the defense in the shutout, Placer’s fifth this season.

The Hillmen travel to Colfax to open PVL play Wednesday at 7 p.m. in a rare game under the lights.
