Hunting organization tries to tell you that hunting is "safe" for children and that getting injured or killed in hunting accidents are "slim" as getting injured of killed by lighting.
"Statistically, the numbers of people injured or killed in hunting-related shooting incidents are similar to the number of people injured or killed by lightning strikes."
Hunting organization will tell you that "more injuries" in basketball, football, hockey and cheerleading then in hunting but minor injuries are not what we are talking about, its the serious injuries and death not only to themselves but to innocent non-killing public and domesticated animals.
Why are they so desperate to recruit young children?
"Finding #4: Without Changes, The Future of Hunting is Bleak Unless changes are made to address poor hunting replacement numbers, the future of hunting, conservation and the shooting sports industry is in jeopardy."
You can see they want age to start killing animals to be lowered.
"Families Afield partners have generally used two strategies. The first is to eliminate or reduce age minimums."
Overall recreational hunting is high enough with adults what makes them think its safe for kids. The most recent death is 11 year old.

Lastly I want to remind you that these are only whats been called in so there are so much more hunting accidents with injuries and death out there. Newspapers do not want to report them because many local paper are in cahoots with the state hunting industry.

This has to be one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read. CarolineTC also does not have a clue how to construct a persuasive article. This is poorly written, with spelling and grammar errors everywhere. Aside from the obvious, let’s look at the core of her misguided babbling. I live in Michigan where we have more than 500,000 hunters in the woods over the course of our three month season. There are usually reports of a few injuries and the occasional death. Why is that? Stupidity! There are careless hunters that disregard the rules, as there are in any sport. In football for instance, there are rules against the chop block, or grabbing the face mask. Why? These actions pose a known potential for injury to the player. This comparison may not work for everybody, but is one of a million I could use from many sports. The key factor here is education in how to peruse any outdoor sport or activity. Negligence is the driving force in the hunting accident percentage. The 11 year old boy you speak of, why was he carrying his firearm while climbing down? The firearm should have been unloaded and lowered down by a rope prior to descending from his stand. Had this rule been followed he would still be here today. This simple step should have been drilled into his head by his father over and over. Who is to blame? Not the sport, but individuals that are too damn stupid to actually be awarded a hunting license in the first place.
