The Auburn Little League Junior All-Stars kicked off the District 11 tournament with an 11-7 win over Lincoln Friday night.

Early errors led to a 2-0 Lincoln lead, but Auburn answered back with a six-run bottom of the first, highlighted by run-scoring hits from Jake Lewis and Collin Mitchell.

Eric Taylor allowed three earned runs in 6 1/3 innings, struck out seven and walked two. Lewis entered to get the final two outs when Eric reached his pitch limit in the seventh.

“Eric pitched great tonight,” manager Eddie Vanderdoes said. “I really liked his accuracy and his ability to really go after the hitters.”

Lewis had two hits and two RBIs, also hustling out a dropped third strike that eventually landed him on second base.

Mitchell, Taylor, Isaac Brahce, Isaiah Pineiro and Cameron Woodside all added hits for Auburn.

Auburn returns to the diamond Wednesday in Rocklin at 6:30 p.m. against the winner of the game between Rocklin and Tri City Monday night.
