Door-to-door rides for seniors

Quilting for hospice:

Gloria Quinan is putting together a group to meet monthly and knit prayer shawls for patients in hospice. If interested in joining, contact Quinan at (530) 888-1572 or classic@inreach.com.

Pioneer United Methodist Church in Auburn also has a Prayer Shawl Ministry, which meets twice a month to knit shawls for distribution to people facing an emotional need for comfort. Anyone in the community who knows knitting or crocheting, or who would like to learn, is invited to take part in this activity. Meetings are on the first Monday and second Tuesday of the month. Recreation and Respite Programs

Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital and Sutter Roseville Medical Center are looking for enthusiastic and energetic volunteers to assist with the Recreation and Respite Programs located in Auburn, Lincoln and Roseville. Volunteer opportunities include providing companionship to seniors, helping with arts and crafts projects, encouraging the seniors to participate in pet visits and watching various types of entertainment. The Recreation and Respite program offers these engaging activities for seniors with physical or memory impairments to enhance the well-being of the participants while providing free time to their caregivers. A.A.A.R.F.

Auburn Area Animal Rescue Foundation is a tax exempt organization with 100 percent of monetary donations used toward the animals in the foundation. If you would like to donate food or toys please call the foundation for a list of approved items at (530) 887-5577. AAARF is open to the public for adoption and donation drop-offs, from Friday-Sunday, 11am-3pm They are located at 11940 Masters Ct. Auburn.

Auburn Recreation District

Auburn Recreation District is looking for volunteer coaches for the Youth Development basketball league as well as another competitive middle-school league starting this spring. Coaches must pass a fingerprinting background check. For more information, visit the Recreation Park customer service office at 123 Recreation Drive in Auburn.
